FITNESS

Pre & Post Natal Corrective Exercise

MIND BODY BABY FITNESS  offers specialized prenatal and postpartum fitness programs that combine strength training, cardiovascular exercise, core stability and mental imagery to prepare the body for labor, and to aid in a faster recovery post childbirth.

Our programs are based on corrective exercises and are perfect for women who:

  • Would like to prepare their body prior to conception

  • Want to maintain strength and fitness levels during pregnancy

  • Wish to alleviate pain and discomfort during pregnancy

  • Are looking to follow a safe exercise program throughout all trimesters of pregnancy

  • Have a Diastasis Recti separation and are looking to re-connect and strengthen their core

  • Want to prevent and/or rehabilitate pelvic floor muscle dysfunction

  • Wish to follow a safe exercise program immediately post the birth of their baby

Why is it Important to Exercise during Pregnancy?

During pregnancy, a woman experiences several physical and hormonal changes which often causes the body to function at a less than optimal level. Changes in posture, alignment, body weight, organ placement, and pressure on the pelvic floor can affect many areas including balance, stability, mobility and breathing. All of these changes combined with hormonal fluctuations, can lead to increased levels of physical and emotional stress. The good news is that regular exercise can help you achieve a more pleasurable pregnancy and childbirth experience while providing numerous benefits for both you and your baby.

MIND BODY BABY fitness supports a healthy pregnancy, and in addition to exercise also encourages expecting mothers to ensure that they are getting enough sleep, eating a variety of nutritious foods, drinking plenty of water, and including some form of mind-clearing relaxation in their daily routines.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT...

VS.

When preparing for a marathon, athletes spend on average 6-12 months and approximately 150-300 hours in training for an event that lasts 5 hours.

Pregnant women on the other hand spend on average 20-30 hours of training in a 9 month period for an event that will last approximately 12 to 24 HOURS!

Giving birth requires a tremendous amount of mental and physical endurance. Therefore, it only makes sense that we should take the time to prepare both our mind and our body during this life-changing transformation!
